CUB SCOUTS IS FUN

Welcome to the Pack 159 WebPage!

This page is my homepage for
Pack 159 in Judsonia, Arkansas,
Three Rivers District; Quapaw Area Council.

I want to offer helpful tips for anyone interested
in scouting. I am currently working on specific
pages to help Den Leaders of Wolves and Bears.
Some of these pages are still under construction
but I will be working on them a lot during the month
of July so Please check back. I also have a
Craft Page I have been working on that has some
craft projects that can be made to fulfill
requirements for either the Bear or Wolf badges.
I have gathered crafts and other things from the Web,
Pow-Wow books, Roundtable Meetings training
sessions and other scout resources and tried to
put them in an orderly manner so You The Leaders
and/or Parents can help your cub scouts earn
their badges for rank.
Most recently I have added several more projects to
the Neckerchief Slide page.

My goal is to try to make it easier for leaders
to plan their meetings. I understand that most
leaders and parents have to work and just don't
have the time to surf the net for the information.
We all have many other obligations like family,
helping our kids with homework and just the day to
day things thrown at us. This is the most frequent
reason given by people when my husband and I are
recruiting for new Den Leaders...NO TIME.
Planning scout meetings is probably the most time
consuming part of volunteering for scouts. The
actual meetings are only an hour out of each week.

Who can't give ONE hour a week to help our youth
become more productive citizens and learn moral and
ethical values?

I am Assistant Cubmaster of our pack. I became
disabled in 1996 and can no longer work as a nurse.
I now devote all my time and energy into our youth
through scouts. I have always liked working with children.
I try to collect information and organize it in a way
that should help anyone who wants to be a volunteer
but doesn't have a lot of time to plan meetings.
I have tried to collect a variety of things you
need to plan meetings to keep the kids attention.
The hardest thing for Leaders is Keeping ALL the
boys interested at the same time.

I am currently working on a page for Bear
Requirements. I already have the Wolf page complete
and it has all the requirements and electives as
printed in the old Cub Scout Wolf Handbook. There
have been a few minor changes (mostly in the wording)
to the book since I completed this page.
I am going to try to update this page sometime real soon so
it will coincide with the newest handbook. No more
searching through the handbook to find something you
know is there but just can't find. It's all right
here in summary form that you can print out.

I hope you enjoy my pages and find some useful
information. Any suggestions/comments you might
have as to what I can add to improve my pages will be
greatly appreciated. Please email me by clicking
the link at the botom of this page or sign my
guestbook and I will be more than happy to try to
add what you want.
